5 Minutes with... Emma Bushell

Emma recently joined Freedman International as an Account Director. She talks about her passion for the production and localisation industry, importance of being up front and honest and what she loves to do in her free time.

What’s your role at Freedman?

I joined Freedman in December 2021 as an Account Director. I’ll be supporting my team on one of our largest accounts, whilst ensuring we’re working effectively and efficiently. I’ll also be helping out with organic growth and onboarding new clients, working in partnership with the team to provide our best-in-class insight-driven localisation for our brands.

Tell us a bit more about what you were doing before joining Freedman?

I worked at a small Marketing Tech Start-up for a year and before that I spent most of my career working in Production and Localisation, which is where my career passions lie. I love the salt of the earth people within the production world whilst bringing practical and strategic solutions to clients.

What superpower are you bringing to Freedman?

My honesty. I think being up front and honest with people is super important. There are of course ways to deliver certain things, but at the end of the day, clients always appreciate being told the truth and that helps to build relationships and create a real partnership for projects and beyond. This also works within my leadership style – honesty is my best policy.

What’s your secret to success?

Being observant and always being willing to learn and absorb from the people around me. Also, take on feedback and implement what people are telling me and to have open and honest discussions.

When you’re not working at Freedman you are… (any interests, hobbies, fun fact etc)

I don’t have a hobby as such, but I love reading, going on dog walks and spending time with family and friends. I also love travelling when the opportunity is there – hoping to finally get abroad again this year.
