As an experienced Account Director, you will be part of the Client Services team and will play a leading role in the strategic development, growth, retention and profitability for a number of our of clients, thus contributing directly to the growth of the business.

As Account Director you have real opportunity to take ownership and manage leading brands’ marketing and advertising campaigns. You build strong relationships with clients and act as a trusted partner to help achieve their vision. You support and coach your team, setting the bar for exceptional client management and delivery. Exploring new and innovative ways to improve our systems and processes, you ensure the seamless flow of relevant and accurate information to all business stakeholders.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Client Management & Delivery

  • Building strong relationships with clients positioning yourself and the agency as trusted advisors
  • Collaborating with clients to set out project timelines and budgets
  • Holding regular calls and meetings with clients to provide progress updates, driving the direction of projects, and gathering feedback
  • Presenting and articulating our ideas to clients in a digestible and relevant way through delivering a compelling message and explaining the underlying strategy
  • Demonstrating in-depth understanding of client context, competitors, and industry
  • Tracking challenges and success of account in all aspects: projects, client and team relationships, processes, reporting – in order to carry out and present account QBRs internally to senior members of the organisation

  • Alongside the Head of Client Services, managing any procurement discussions or negotiations of rates and existing contracts with clients
  • Keeping abreast of industry trends and devising new, innovative ways and processes to support project delivery

 

Commercial/Profitability

  • Growing revenue of accounts while maintaining high level of service and excellent team morale
  • Working with senior management to set budgets, monitor costs and profitability, ensuring timely invoicing and payment of fees, and generally overseeing the financial aspect of projects
  • Tracking and managing account forecasts, organising status meetings with Finance team and MD to ensure all targets are met in sales and GP
  • Collaborating with the senior Client Services team to deliver the Account team’s strategic and financial objectives
  • Understanding and championing the importance of resource management and forward planning

 

People/Team Management

  • Line manage select team members up to Account Manager level;
  • Delegating project work, client responsibilities and tasks in a fair and clear manner;
  • Supervising and managing any direct reports in their day-to-day role, providing effective line management
  • Driving personal development and career planning for your team, sharing learnings from projects and providing appropriate learning & development opportunities
  • Identifying resource requirements and participating in the recruitment process as appropriate

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Solid experience in a similar role within a creative/marketing agency;
  • A proven track record of delivering high-calibre, award-winning work;
  • Significant experience overseeing key client accounts, building successful relationships & rapidly earning client trust;
  • Significant experience of driving projects from initial briefing to final product;
  • Experience successfully managing expectations across various stakeholders;
  • Experience of and strong ability in putting together account plans to show how targets will be achieved and outlining key milestones;
  • Previous experience managing employees, including other managers, carrying out appraisals and developing at least three direct reports within a team;
  • Exceptional attention to detail;
  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills.
