About You

 As an Account Director, you are part of the Client Services team and are responsible for the strategic development, growth, retention and profitability for a number of established brands.

You, and others around you, are highly motivated individuals who are passionate about what you do and take pride in the quality of work you produce. As Account Director you have real opportunity to take ownership and manage leading brands’ transcreation and implementation campaigns. You build strong relationships with clients and act as a trusted partner to help achieve their vision. You support and coach your team, setting the bar for exceptional client management and delivery. Exploring new and innovative ways to improve our systems and processes, you ensure the seamless flow of relevant and accurate information to all business and client stakeholders.

What You’re Here To Do

Your key responsibilities are:

Client Management & Delivery

  • Building strong relationships with clients positioning yourself and the agency as trusted advisors
  • Collaborating with clients to set out project timelines and budgets
  • Holding regular calls and meetings with clients to provide progress updates, driving the direction of projects, and gathering feedback
  • Advising MD, APAC on account-related issues or challenges.
  • Presenting and articulating our ideas to clients in a digestible and relevant way through delivering a compelling message and explaining the underlying strategy
  • Demonstrating in-depth understanding of client context, competitors, andindustry
  • Tracking challenges and success of account in all aspects: projects, client and team relationships, processes, reporting – in order to carry out and present account QBRs internally to senior members of the organisation

  • Carrying out customer surveys to ensure all feedback is taken into account and is addressed appropriately to improve our services to the client
  • Alongside the MD, APAC, managing any procurement discussions or negotiations of rates and existing contracts with clients
  • Working with senior members of the Client Services and Finance team to ensure that all contracts, terms and conditions, and legal documents are in place
  • Keeping abreast of industry trends and devising new, innovative ways and processes to support project delivery

Commercial/Profitability

  • Growing revenue of accounts while maintaining high level of service and excellent team morale
  • Working with senior management to set budgets, monitor costs and profitability, ensuring timely invoicing and payment of fees, and generally overseeing the financial aspect of projects
  • Tracking and managing account forecasts, organising status meetings with Finance team and MD, APAC to ensure all targets are met in sales and GP
  • Collaborating with the senior Client Services team to deliver the Account team’s strategic and financial objectives
  • Understanding and championing the importance of resource management and forward planning
  • In collaboration with senior management, leading commercial discussions on new and existing opportunities with account teams globally
  • Driving commerciality across the team, ensuring everyone has the appropriate level of financial training and understanding

People/Team Management

  • Setting team goals and vision in collaboration with senior management and communicating these clearly
  • Delegating project work, client responsibilities and tasks in a fair and clear manner
  • Supervising and managing any direct reports in their day-to-day role, providing effective line management
  • Driving personal development and career planning for your team, sharing learnings from projects and providing appropriate learning & development opportunities
  • Facilitating effective collaboration by fostering open, honest, and regular communication within the team and wider agency
  • Motivating, empowering, and inspiring others around you, exemplifying Freedman’s values
  • Driving a positive team culture, remaining calm and positive at all times including stressful situations
  • Identifying resource requirements and participating in the recruitment process as appropriate
  • Being able to gain trust from the team and display clear and effective leadership skills as well as the role model behaviours at your level
  • Managing up the managers: ensuring the right management style is applied to the team, in line with the Freedman vision

What You Need To Know/Have

  • Significant experience gained at Account Director level and extensive experience within a client services or account management capacity
  • Excellent relationship building skills, with a focus on relationships internally with senior management and finance, and externally with key, senior stakeholders
  • Experience growing accounts within known business unit as well as from other business units within clients
  • Experience carrying out account reviews both internally and externally, reporting financials and quality of relationships, passing on client feedback
  • Experience working within a fast-paced organisation with strong working knowledge of APAC market and business region
  • Exceptional, timely communication skills both written and verbal
  • Comfortable working within a smaller team environment with experience ranging from small to large agencies
  • Experience working within a global company and maintaining close business relationships with overseas business units
  • Exceptional business acumen and financial awareness, including GP
  • Significant commercial understanding, with the ability to put rate cards together, carry out forecasting and road-mapping
  • A keen interest in building our positioning and enhancing the reputation of the company and team internally and externally
  • Significant experience coordinating and leading new business pitches as well as presenting and speaking to prospective clients
  • Ability to put together extensive account plans to show how targets will be achieved and outlining key milestones
  • Previous experience managing employees, carrying out appraisals and developing a team of direct reports
  • Strong, influential leaderships skills and an excitement to bring in, nurture and teach highly skilled individuals
  • Passionate, positive and ambitious individual with passion and flair to demonstrate within a production agency
  • Degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field preferable but not essential
